Most Americans Are Stressed
The majority of Americans experience Symptoms of Stress, according to a report, Stress in America, released this spring by the American Psychological Association. Sixty-seven percent of people report experiencing emotional symptoms related to stress, while 72 percent report experiencing physical symptoms of stress.
Specific symptoms reported include:
- Irritable or angry – 41%
- Lack of interest or energy – 39%
- Nervous or anxious – 37%
- Overwhelmed – 37%
- Fatigued – 37%
- Depressed or Sad – 36%
- As if they could cry – 30%
- Upset stomach or indigestion – 24%
